These works are the Google Street View series from On The Way To, a solo exhibition at SEIBU Ikebukuro Art Capsule + in 2023.

As the show title suggests, they are depicted as the Bodies on the way to SEIBU Ikebukuro from Shibuya which is the area I usually pick as the background in this series.

The backgrounds have been searched in the areas nearby the stations of the Yamanote line, which is a famous circle line in Tokyo.

The Yamanote line is one of the most important lines in Tokyo, and it has many famous and busy stations.

In these paintings, the Bodies are photobombing in the Street View as if sometimes sightseeing the famous places in Tokyo, sometimes hanging out in random places.

これらは2023年に開催された西武池袋アートカプセル＋での個展「On The Way To」のグーグルストリートビューシリーズの作品です。

展覧会タイトル通り、普段このシリーズで描かれる渋谷から西武池袋本店までのボディたちの道中を描写しています。

背景は東京の有名な環状線である山手線の駅周辺で探しました。

山手線は東京の有名な路線の一つであり、巨大で賑やかな駅がたくさんあります。

本作品群では、ボディたちが時に東京の名所を観光するように、時に適当な場所にたむろするように、ストリートビューに映り込んでいます。
